Welcome to NotesPack ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data and information. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and stores your information.
1. Information We Collect
A. Personal Account Information (Authentication)
When you sign in using Google Sign-In (powered by Firebase Authentication), we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your profile picture URL
- A unique Firebase user identification string (UID)
This information is used strictly to authenticate your account and secure your session.
B. User Notes and Content
Any notes, checklists, text entries, and expense amounts you create within NotesPack are stored locally on your device using an on-device SQLite database (Android Room). We do not view, transmit, rent, or sell your private note contents.
C. Device Permissions
- Camera: Used only when you choose to scan physical receipts for optical character recognition. Photos are processed locally on-device and never uploaded.
- Internet: Required to authenticate your account via Firebase and load your Google avatar photo.
2. On-Device Text Recognition (OCR)
NotesPack uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition to allow you to extract text from receipts. Text extraction is performed entirely on your device without transmitting images to cloud servers.

We prioritize the security of your data:
- Encryption in Transit: Communications with Firebase authentication servers use modern Transport Layer Security (HTTPS/TLS).
- Local Sandboxing: Your notes database is stored securely in your device's protected application sandbox.
5. Account and Data Deletion
How to Delete Your Account and Data:
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account at any time directly within NotesPack by navigating to your Profile screen, tapping the Settings icon in the top right, and selecting 'Delete Account' under the Danger Zone. This immediately deletes your Firebase Authentication record.
- Email Request: You can also request complete deletion of your authentication credentials by emailing us at projectshealme@gmail.com. Requests are verified and completed within 30 days.
- Local Storage: Because operating system cloud backups are disabled (
allowBackup="false"), uninstalling NotesPack or clearing app storage permanently wipes all local notes, drawings, and expenses from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
NotesPack is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
